I looked at my phone, the latest Nokia torch in town. I picked up but was afraid to speak, don’t blame me, rumours had it that people were killed through phones by unknown callers.

Me: *picked it up but was d–n silent*

unknown caller (UC): hello

me: *breathed down* hello who is this?

UC: hello am i speaking with Mr Idris

Me: yes ma pls who is calling me?

UC: this is Mrs Bukky from NESCO BREWING COMPANY, remember you gave me your number?

Me: ahh, good evening ma.. Sorry i didn’t recognized ur voice. So how’s your day?

Mrs Bukky: cool, i just called to check on you. So how is your wife?

Me: hahaha, she is fine oo..

Mrs Bukky: hmmm, ok good night and enjoy yourself.

The line went off.

I could swear that i detected some traces of disappointments and anger in her voice but i let it pass as i didn’t know what brought about that attitude of hers.

Anita came out of the bathroom looking so fresh and sweet. She wore her cloth and went out to meet chief after about 20 minutes of kissing.

Right there, i swore that immediately i got my job, i will stop her runs biz.

SOMEWHERE DEEP IN THE COVEN

The snake ladies were having their meeting as usuall. This time, their queen was angry. Her eyes were changing colours from red to white to blue to green and then to black.

Queen: mama T!!!

She shouted spitting thunder

mama T: yes queen mother!

Queen: where is the woman you promised to bring to us?

Mama T: queen mother, the woman is so stubborn. I tried my possible best but she is too stubborn. She claimed her husband will be angry if he finds out she has been moving with us.

Queen: did you tell her we are witches?

Mama T: no queen mother, i dare not.

Queen: good, you have little time to complete your assignment or face the wrath of our goddess.

Mama T: yes queen mother.

Queen mother: Mama G!

Mama G: yes queen mother.

Queen: tonight is your turn to feed us, why don’t you give us meat to eat from your numerous sugar boys.

Mama G: yes ma..

The great python mama G crawled towards the mirror.

Mama IK: *whispering to mama G* why don’t you bring segun for us to eat tonight.

Mama G just ignored her as she moved on.

She will definitely kill segun but not now because he is her favourite.

Mama G: *picked up the mirror* Samuel! Samuel!! Samuel!!!

She called out and waited for some minutes but there was no response.

She repeated it again and before they knew what was happening, a white dove appeared from above followed by series of earthquakes.

Samuel’s apartment

Samuel was busy sleeping with his girlfriend Joy in the room. Joy a devoted Christian was praying that night and was fasting because of a bad revelation she got about Samuel.

Samuel was angry and covered his ears with a pillow because he thought she was disturbing him with her mid night prayers.

Little did he know that the SNAKE LADIES are also praying over his head.
