Former Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, has insisted he remains a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a Thursday statement released by his former spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Wednesday, Buhari made it clear that he would never abandon the party that gave him the platform to lead Nigeria for two terms.

He said:

“I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularize the party by all means.”

The ex- president noted that he considers the opportunity to have served as Nigeria’s leader under the APC as the “highest honor” and does not seek anything more from the party.

“At present, I have nothing but gratitude for the support that the party gave me before and during my tenure as president.”
